Ryan Longnecker
Ryan joined Bethany in 2008. He began working with High School students, and now is the director of Crossroads, Bethany's college ministry for those just out of high school and continuing until a transition into the young adult program becomes the best option.
He grew up in Bishop, CA and was there for the first 18 years of his life. It was there his love for the mountains, the arts, God's word, music, and genuine relationships began.
Ryan studied Music Minstry at Vanguard University of Southern California and received his BA with cum laude honors, and as is the case with God, the story was only just beginning. He currently is studying theology at Fuller Theological Seminary and co-owns a photography business. Ryans hopes for any ministry is that they would grow, but not by solicitation, but by inspiration and wonder. Here's something from Ryan, "I believe that in our world,
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Pr 22:6)
Jim is a graduate of Andersonville Baptist College (BA in Biblical Studies – 2003), and is currently working toward Masters Degrees from Whitefield Theological Seminary (MA in Christian Studies - 2012; MA in Religion - 2014). In May 2010 he was ordained to the gospel ministry. Jim has overseen the adult and children’s Christian Education department at Bethany since October 2010. His gifts as a team-builder and an administrator, and his desire to see the gifts of others used to their fullest, has resulted in the creation of a solid team of Sunday School teachers, aides, and administrative leaders who will take Bethany’s Christian Education department well into the 21st century. Jim has been married to Diane going on 20 years. They have four adult children and five grandchildren. Jim loves to study/teach the Bible and watch University of Miami football (where he played in 1970-71; “go ‘Canes!”).

Luke Baumgartner
Lindsey and Luke Baumgartner
February 20: Bethany held a special business meeting after the second morning worship service and voted to call Luke Baumgartner to serve as our Worship Leader. This came at the unanimous recommendation of Pastor Leckie, the Worship Leader Search Team and the Board of Deacons.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.(Matthew 28:19-20)
These verses signify the heartbeat of the high school group. I believe that high schoolers have the ability to change the world. They have the ability, the knowledge, the giftedness and capability to make a difference right where they are. This is our hope and goal.
Greg has prepared a web site with resources for High School students. The site contains links to crisis hot lines, devotionals, and Bible study aids, as well as a calendar of events for the High School Department. It also has a parent's page. The site can be found by clicking here. There will also be a permanent link in the navigation bar on the left of this (Bethany's) home page.

Visitation Ministry
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” Then the righteous will answer him, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?” And the King shall answer and say unto them, “Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.” Matt.25: 35-40
Ron, a graduate of Melodyland School of Theology, has taken over the ministry pioneered by Dr. Gordon Blenkhorn. The purpose of this ministry is to visit and provide support to those unable to make it to church, keeping them abreast of “happenings” at Bethany. Other responsibilities include praying with members and family before surgery, sitting with family members during times of crisis, delivering communion to shut-ins, administering baptism, helping families make final arrangements, and supporting Pastor at memorial services. Ron says, “When I visit them and walk into their room and see their warm friendly smiles, I can truly say, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
