Preamble
Purpose THE HOLY SCRIPTURES THE TRINITY GOD THE FATHER JESUS CHRIST 1 John 2:1-2) THE HOLY SPIRIT TOTAL DEPRAVITY OF MAN (Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 3:22-23, 5:12; Ephesians 2:12) SALVATION THE ETERNAL SECURITY OF BELIEVERS THE CHURCH (Ephesians 1:22-23, 5:25-27; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14) We believe that the local church consists of a body of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world (Matthew 28:19,20; Acts 1:8; Revelation 2-3; 1 Corinthians 1:2). THE PERSONALITY OF SATAN THE RAPTURE THE TRIBULATION AND THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST THE ETERNAL STATE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF BELIEVERS CHURCH ORDINANCES SPIRITUALITY We believe that a believer becomes carnal through any act of mental, verbal or overt sin and that spirituality or fellowship with Christ is restored by personal confession of all known sin to God the Father (John 15:7-8; 2 Corinthians 5:6; Galatians 5:16; Ephesians 5:18; Romans 6:11-13; 1 John 1:9; 1 John 1:5-2:2: 1 Corinthians 11:30,31). BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT AND SPIRITUAL GIFTS We further believe that God the Holy Spirit in grace and apart from human merit sovereignly bestows spiritual gifts to believers in this age for the building up of the body of Christ. Some of the spiritual gifts are pastor-teacher, evangelist, administrator, helper, giving and showing of mercy (1 Corinthians 12, 13; Ephesians 4:7-12; Romans 12:4-8). |
