The purpose of the Women’s Ministries is to glorify God in all we think, say and do. Our women are active in many different areas within our church and our aim is to reach out to those around us, both within and outside the church.

Ladies Spring Brunch (Chairperson: Lynda Crocker)
The Ladies Spring Brunch is held late April or early May. A speaker is usually a key part of the program, with special music and other activities of interest to our ladies of all ages. This event is an opportunity for every lady at Bethany to enjoy a time of fellowship and an outreach to our friends. Our chairperson welcomes any who would like to help out in this annual spring event.

Fellowship (Chairperson: Laurie Peterseon)

The fellowship ministry person is in charge of the set up and food for our Annual Church Business Meeting which is usually held in early February. Her other main responsibility is in helping plan, along with the Men’s Ministries Committee, the Annual All Church Picnic, usually held the last Sunday in August. This is a big family event with lots of food, games, contests, etc. It is fun for the whole family. Help is always welcome.

Outreach/Bible Study (Chairperson: Pat Garcia)
The purpose of the Outreach Ministry is to create ideas that will cause the women of Bethany to want to reach out to each other and our community. It includes our Secret Sister program, various craft classes, Bible studies, and occasional events like boutiques.
At present there is a Ladies Bible Study that meets on Tuesdays in the morning which provides child care. The ladies usually do two studies during the year; one in the fall/winter and one in the winter/spring, with the summer free. The study has luncheons during the year as a way of socializing and making friends. Mission Ministry Liaison (Chairperson: Lynn Mann)
This ministry keeps us apprised of the activities of the Missions Committee and our Missionaries and how we, as a church body can better relate to our missionaries and show them support.

Ladies Retreat (Chairperson: Sabine Galvan)

Our Ladies retreat is held at a mountain conference center in the fall. There is a core committee of five ladies that lay out the plan and then enlist the aid of others so that any who wish to be involved in this major event in our church may have a place to serve. There is usually an outside speaker who shares with us in two or three sessions and challenges us with God’s messages from His word. The rest of the time is given over to workshops that address issues of interest to ladies in various stages and times of their lives. There is also time set aside for some relaxation, recreation, crafts, etc. The fellowship and friendships forged are always a blessing.

Grace and Mercy (Chairperson: Linda Pearce)
Grace and Mercy is a committee set up to meet the needs of people in our church in various ways. The Grace and Mercy team is made up of the following ministries:

• Prayer Chain (Committee Head: Betty Griset )
  There are four different ways the prayer chain works; a telephone chain, an email chain and two mission’s chains. The purpose of the prayer chain is to meet the urgent prayer needs of our church family. To place a request you can either call the church office or Betty Campbell.
• Meals (Committee Head: Ada Maldanado )
  If someone has had a prolonged illness or having surgery or there’s a new baby in the house meals will be provided. Our goal is that if meals are needed the Sunday school class they are in would provide them. If they are not involved in a class contact Sharon.
• Funerals (Committee Head: Irene James or Pat Hendrickson)
  To meet the needs of Bethany families in providing food for the funeral when an immediate family member dies.
• Showers (Committee Head: Pam Martin )
  To honor marriage and God’s gift of children. Wedding showers for Bethany brides are a fun event provided under this ministry as are Baby Showers for first babies at Bethany.
