Listen to Pastor Leckie: Sermon List
Greg Stiles - High School
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:19-20)
These verses signify the heartbeat of the high school group. I believe that high schoolers have the ability to change the world. They have the ability, the knowledge, the giftedness and capability to make a difference right where they are. This is our hope and goal.
James K. Ulam - Executive Pastor
Pastor Jim has served on staff at Bethany since June 2010. In his role, Jim is responsible for managing the business affairs of Bethany Bible Fellowship, Bethany Christian Academy, and Bethany Christian Preschool. Pastorally, he ministers to the body by teaching the Alpha & Omega (Senior Saints) Sunday school class; by often teaching a mid-week Bible study for the Seed (Bethany’s Wednesday night ministry); and by working closely with Pastor Leckie in a number of other ministerial duties during the week.
Pastor Jim’s gifts include teaching, team building, and administration, as well as a strong desire to see the gifts of others used to their fullest. One of his favorite quotes came from President Ronald Reagan: “The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things.”
Pastor Jim has been married to Diane for over 21 years. They have four adult children and seven grandchildren. Jim loves to study/teach the Bible and watch University of Miami football (where he played [that is, mostly practiced] from 1970-72). He is a graduate of Andersonville Baptist College in Camilla, GA, and is currently working toward a Th.D. from Providence Theological School in Crisfield, MD.
Kathy Schilling - Families
Kathy is a graduate of California State University of Long Beach (BA Business Communications) and Talbot School of Theology (M. DIV Christian Education). Attending Bethany since 2001 she has served on the Women’s Board, Children’s Worship Teacher and Sunday School Teacher. She served as Christian Education Director at Grace Community Church for 10 years. She and Ken have been married for 22 years and have three children, Connor, Parker and Taylor.
Family Ministry exists to support and encourage those who are seeking to build strong marriages and nurture faith at home. Its Kathy’s desire to help families navigate through the many challenges faced in today’s culture. At Bethany our goal is to support all families through sound Biblical teaching and resources that build and encourage one another.
