Coronavirus Response and Updates

July 2, 2020: Livestream only services beginning July 5th, 10:30am

In response to rising virus numbers, the state of California has issued new guidelines for beaches, businesses, and even churches. Chuches have been ordered by the state to discontinue singing during in-person services. The belief is that singing, even with masks, increases the risk of spreading the virus.

As a church, we believe that worship through song is an integral part of our regular services. Not only does the Lord inhabit the praises of his people, singing the truths of sacred Scripture fills the hearts of worshipers with joy, and helps nourish and build the church body.

Therefore, rather than discontinue singing, we will maintain our regular service model which congregants and visitors are invited to participate in from home. For the time being, we will not hold on-campus services. To view our livestream services, please visit our sermon page or go to our YouTube channel

We are so very happy to announce that on June 14th, at 10:30am Bethany is regathering for our first on-campus service since COVID-19. A single service will be held in the Fellowship Hall and will be live streamed online for those who are either unable or not yet comfortable attending in person. While classes and Life Groups for the time being will continue to be online only, we look forward to once again worshiping together as the body of Christ. Please be aware that though measures will be taken to increase safety on our campus (see Bethany Regathering: Plans & Policies here), meeting together will not come without some risk. Those who are at greater risk are encouraged to consider continuing to participate online.
Are you planning on joining us? Are you willing to serve as a volunteer? We’re going to need some extra help to make this happen. Please take a moment to fill out our survey and let us know if you will be joining us.

On March 19, 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom issued a stay at home order to protect the health and well-being of all Californians and to establish consistency across the state in order to slow the spread of COVID-19. You may view the order here.

Subsequently, The California State Public Health Officer and Director of the California Department of Public Health have ordered all individuals living in the State of California to stay home or at their place of residence, except as needed to maintain continuity of operation of the federal critical infrastructure sectors, critical government services, schools, childcare, and construction, including housing construction.
These orders went  into effect on Thursday, March 19, 2020.
Pursuant to these orders and out of a desire to care well for the people whom God has entrusted to us, all regular services, on-site programs, gatherings, and events were suspended until further notice. Sermons are being prerecorded weekly and will be available on the sermon page of our website.

The Academy and Preschool are CLOSED as per Orange County Department of Education, and Westminster School District directive through the END OF THE ADADEMIC YEAR. We will continue to focus on Distance Learning during this time.

The church office is closed, however staff are still available by phone (714-891-5859) or email during normal business hours to assist you with any needs you may be experiencing or even those you are aware of for others in our body.

Regardless of these closures, OUR MINISTRY CONTINUES and your tithes and offerings continue to be needed to support God's mission for Bethany. They can be mailed in, dropped off at the church office, or made through our website.

Please check back regularly for further updates.

As we walk forward in His strength, pray for all to be unified in faith and may we trust in how God is going to be glorified in this difficult circumstance. He is our hope in all things, may each of you find opportunities to bond on deeper levels as a family and may you rest in the peace that only Jesus brings.
