Passage: Ephesians 4:17–24
Discussion Questions
Why should Christians live differently than the way they did before they were saved? Why can’t we just thank God for saving us and then get on with our lives?
What does Paul mean by the “old self”? What are we to do with it? Is it really healthy to reject it? How are you intentionally working to put off your old self?
Why is putting off the old self not something that should be done gradually?
If those who are in Christ are new creations (1 Cor. 5:17), then why should we need to bother putting on a new self? Are we not holy already?
What does it mean to “be renewed in the spirit of your minds” (Eph. 4:23) and what does it have to do with putting on the new self?
