How would you define ruin? Why does it exist? Is it real or just a matter of perspective?
How do Americans often respond to ruin? In what was is that response inadequate?
There are countless things that people hope in every day. What are some of them? Do you have hopes that have recently weakened or crumbled? What are some things that even Christians tend to mistakenly place their hope in?
How do you tend to respond to ruin in your life? What do those responses reveal about what is going on inside of your heart?
Name some examples of people who have responded well to ruin. What what enabled them to do that?
How can experiencing ruin actually serve as a catalyst for faith in Christ?
How should faith in Christ impact the way that Christians respond to ruin?
How can you better prepare your heart to respond to ruin?
Jesus wept over the city whose people were looking for peace in all the wrong places. Do we weep for those who don’t know Christ? Why or why not? How can we develop hearts that break for the lost?
