Discussion Questions:

Why does it matter that Jesus Christ is God? What impact would it have on our hope if he was not? What impact would it have on his ability to forgive sins, be an atoning sacrifice, or guaranteeing those who believe in him an eternal future?

How would you describe God? What does the sending of his Son to earth tell us about him? Why should that give us hope?

Why is it important for us to know that life originates with Jesus? If he is the giver and sustainer of life (Colossians 1:16), how should that impact the way we seek to have our needs in life met?

What is the significance of Christ being light? How was light victorious over darkness in creation? How is it victorious in the new creation in which sinners are saved and made new? What impact should Christ as the victorious light have on the way we see and are affected by darkness in our world?

How can you better align your focus on our one and only Hope this Christmas season?
