Discussion Questions:

Read Matthew 27:27-52a as a group.

What are the four ironies of the cross?

In what way is each of them an essential part of our salvation?

In what way is our wandering away from God to pursue life the way we want it ironic?

If Jesus truly is King, then what implications should that have on the way that Christ-followers live their lives?

If Jesus power was made perfect in weakness, then what does that mean for the way that Christians should show their power? Also, where does their power come from?

If Jesus sacrificed himself to save others, then what might it look like for believers to work for the good of others?

If Jesus endured despair fully trusting God, then how should we endure even the most trying moments of life?

How is true freedom found in surrendering to Jesus Christ?
