What are you interested in? What do you get excited about? What do you love?

What are some common things that people seek after for pleasure or satisfaction? Do these satisfy? Why? How do you know?

Do you agree with Oscar Wilde when he said, “There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it”? Explain.

Read Psalm 16:11, 34:8, 37:4, 42:1-2, 63:1 and 119:103 as a group.

What is it about God (i.e. his character) that makes him the only source of lasting joy and satisfaction? Explain.

How can a person be centered on God? Read Psalm 119:15-16. 

I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word. (Psalm 119:15-16 ESV)
