Core Truth #25

Q: Does Christ’s death mean all our sins can be forgiven?
A: Yes, because Christ’s death on the cross fully paid the penalty for our sin, God graciously imputes Christ’s righteousness to us as if it were our own and will remember our sins no more.

Read 1 Peter 3:1-7 as a group.

According to Peter, both husbands and wives are to submit to one another. What is the difference in the way that the two are supposed to submit?

Does submission mean absolute obedience? Explain.

What are the qualities of “imperishable beauty” that Peter describes? How are they all connected to a wife’s hope in God?

What does it mean for husbands to live with their wives in an “understanding way”? In what way might that involve dying to themselves?

In what way does mutual submission serve to point husbands and wives to the excellencies of Christ?
