Core Truth #26

Q: What else does Christ’s death redeem?
A: Christ’s death is the beginning of the redemption and renewal of every part of fallen creation, as he powerfully directs all things for his own glory and creation’s good.

For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. Colossians 1:19-20

If you could write the story of your life, what would the good life look like?

Read 1 Peter 3:8 as a group. What attitude should Christians have toward each other? How would life better better if we lived that way with each other?

Read 1 Peter 3:9. How are Christians supposed to react to those who do them wrong or hurt them? How would living in a community of people who practiced that be good for you?

Read 1 Peter 3:10-11. What standard of conduct should Christians have. What do loving life and seeing good days have to do with that kind of lifestyle?

Read 1 Peter 3:12. What incentive is there for Christians to live in a Christlike manner? Does that mean that we will be happy, healthy and wealthy? Explain.

In what way have you experienced God’s blessing result from living like Jesus?
