DISCUSSION GUIDES

Community Groups:

Paul wrote, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith’” (Romans 1:16–17).

In what ways have you seen the power of God work through the gospel of for salvation?

  • Have you seen people who were enemies of the cross come to trust in Jesus?
  • Have you seen people been delivered from addiction?
  • Have you seen people who have dramatic, unexpected turn arounds?

Read 1 Timothy 1:15-17. In what way is Paul’s testimony of God’s “perfect patience”? How should that encourage both believers and non-believers alike?

What people do you have to pray for and pursue with the good news of salvation? How can you remind yourself to pray for them more consistently?

Pray together as a group.

Read Acts 9:32-43 for next week.

Family Time (For dads, moms and kids):

Can a person sin too much for God to forgive them?

Read 1 Timothy 1:15-17. What does Paul’s story tell us about God’s love and patience for people who do not know him?

How should we be praying for our friends who do not know Jesus?
