What impact do your goals and expectations for the future have on the motives for what you do in the present?
Read 2 Corinthians 5:1. What does Paul mean by knowledge of the fear of the Lord? What does it motivate he and his partners in ministry to do?
Read Matthew 25:31-46. What are the destinies of those who belong and those who do not belong to Jesus? What impact do you believe such knowledge of these things should have on the motives and actions of believers in the local church?
Read Matthew 6:9-13. In what ways does this prayer convey the appropriate desires of believers who are looking forward to the return of their King and his promise to make all things new (Rev. 21:5)?
