DISCUSSION GUIDES

Read Romans 5:1-11

Paul mentions that we have been justified. What does justification mean?

In what way does our justification in Christ give us peace with God? What is the difference between that peace (objective peace) and feeling at peace (subjective peace)? How does the former impact the later?

In what way does our justification in Christ give us access to God? Why is that significant? How should Christians take advantage of the access they have to God in the present?

In what way does our justification in Christ give us the hope of the glory of God? How is this related to our future?

Look again at verses 3-5. How does the work of Christ impact the way that believers encounter suffering? How does suffering for the name of Jesus actually work to fortify and build a Christian’s hope?

What response should we have to the wonderful results we have because of Christ? See verse 11.

Read Romans 5:12-21 for next Sunday
