Discussion Questions:

Read Mark 13:14-23 as a group.

Do you think the end is near? Why or why not?

How does the Bible describe the period of the great tribulation? What are some things that we can expect to take place? See Revelation 6:12-17; 8:6-7; 10-12; 9:1-21; 11:13; 16:2-21.

If the end is near, what impact should that have on our lives right now?

What did Jesus mean when he told Christians to “be on guard” in verse 23? Does that mean that we should live in fear?

Why do you think that Jesus told these things to Christians “beforehand” (v. 23)? In what way does should that both comfort and prepare Christians to  remain faithful to God?

What are some forms of tribulation or trial that you can identify in our world right now? How are you responding to them? Do you believe that you are responding as God would want?

In what ways can Christians prepare each other to honor God in the event that they face days of intensified tribulation in their lifetime?
