Read Acts 2:42-47 as a group.

What was the evidence that the people in Jerusalem had genuine faith in Christ?  Where do you see John 13:35 lived out in this passage?

Why is the centrality of God’s Word crucial for the life of a church? What happens to a church that is not devoted to it?

What does it mean to be devoted to the fellowship? Is it possible to do this and not regularly be present with the members of your church? Is it possible to regularly attend church and not participate in fellowship? Explain.

What is communion? Is it an optional part of church? In what way does it help keep the church centered on Christ?

Why is prayer so important to the life of a church? What does a church’s devotion to prayer say about its faith in Christ?

What resulted from the early church’s devotion to God’s Word, fellowship, communion, and prayer? What does this tell us about what it means to be a faithful church? What does this tell us about how the true church grows?
