DISCUSSION GUIDES

Community Groups:

Read Acts 8:1-8 as a group.

What victories have you experienced in your life? How did they come about?

Why did early Christians in Acts 8:1-3 flee? What was the threat that they faced?

Do you think that their flight indicates a lack of faith in God? Why or why not?

What did scattered Christians continue to do after they fled Jerusalem? In what way do their actions testify to their faith as well as their commitment to Christ?

In what way might the actions of these followers of Christ set the bar for those who believe they are facing religious persecution today?

How does the conclusion of this passage (v.8) point us to God’s sovereignty? In what way should that encourage believers today?

What challenge should you take away from this passage? How does it lead you to pray? How might it lead you to act?

Read Acts 8:9-24 for next week.

Family Time (For dads, moms and kids):

How do you respond when people are mean to you?

Read Acts 8:1-8 as a family.

What did the early Christians do when they were being treated poorly?

How did they show the love of Jesus even while they were running away from danger?

How can you show the love of Jesus when others are unkind to you?

Pray for each other.
