DISCUSSION GUIDES

Read Acts 20:17-24.

Who have you looked to as an example? What did their life teach you?

The men to whom Paul was speaking were elders of the church in Ephesus. Their job was to lead, teach, and serve as an example to their church of what it looks like to be a mature Christian. Are there people that your life is an example to? Who are they? What are some of the things they are learning from your life in regard to Christian living?

Paul’s wholehearted devotion to Christ was not hidden from the believers in Ephesus. Are you allowing other believers to see your faith lived out? What about in the troubling moments of life? Explain.

Paul said that he “did not shrink” from sharing anything that was beneficial including the confrontational message of the gospel. Can you say the same? What may be holding you back from being more bold in speaking the Truth?

What did Paul consider more precious than his life? Are there things that you need to hold less valuable so that you God-given mission might take first place? What are some of them? What is the mission to which Christ has called you?

Read Acts 20:25-38 for next week.
